Paranormal
Investigation - 20081103
Reported by: Ann Arnold
In the spirit of Halloween, those with a serious
interest in the supernatural are in Wichita Falls for the
first ever Paranormal Convention. But what do these Paranormalists
do? KFDX-3 News reporter Ann Arnold joined the Texoma Investigators
of the Paranormal to Clara Cemetery in Iowa Park to get first-hand
look at a scientific approach to communicating with spirits.
The Texoma Investigators of the Paranormal
(TIPS for short) say, Show me proof. The group
started two years ago and members say recently, people have
been more open to looking into the unknown.
Donnie Tyner the TIPS Lead Investigator says,
You'd be really surprised. We you tell someone what
you do... How many people say you've got to go here. Stuff
like that.
The team doesnt rely on mediums or psychic.
Instead, they take a scientific approach to communicating
with spirits.
Susan Tyner, TIPS Field Investigator says,
"We do a basic reading of the area, go into our investigation
and try to communicate.
The team uses high-tech gear out in the field.
At Clara Cemetery, the team used digital recorders to try
and pick up Electronic Voice Phenomena. They say that's when
a spirit speaks through electronic devices.
They also used laser thermometers, digital
cameras and Electromagnetic Field detectors. After the investigation
is over, team members go over the evidence to see if they've
found anything inhuman.
TIPS does paranormal investigations for free.
